GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

HONGKONG, 3rd March, 1927.

Gw 23758/2625th

With reference to my despatch No.477 dated 25th November, 1926, on the subject of Nursing Sisters in

the service of this Government, I have the honour to inform

you that I am of opinion that, in order to bring the conditions of Nursing Sisters more into line with those of other officers on agreement, half salary should be allowed for the period of the return voyage to England, up to a maximum of 35 days, in the case of sisters who are not re-

engaged on the termination of their agreements. Such half

salary will be convertible at the current rate of exchange, the special rates laid down in the sliding-scale applying only to service in the Colony.

Should you approve of this proposal I shall

be glad if you will inform the Overseas Nursing Association

accordingly.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your most obedient humble servant,

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

LIEUTENANT COLONEL L.C.M.S. AMERY, M.P.,

Governor, &c.
